The idea to this
character came from an article in 'the league of extraordinary gentleman'
about a man who invented the worlds first electrical cardio-turbine,
a giant pacemaker no less! Sadly the story pointed that this device
had little success as it required frequent turning of the handle.
Not very good if your struggling to keep your heart pumping. The inventor
a Dr.barnstable dropped from sight and reportedly spent the remainder
of his life posing as a woman.
The characters
also an amalgamation of frankinstein monster who's had his face glued
with a magic lantern.
